Feeding aversion?

Hi all,

My son is now 3.5 months old. He’s always been a great eater, but is suddenly fighting me at the breast. He cries, arches, turns his head away. Then he’ll start sucking, and spit out the nipple and the milk. I try to coax him back on, and he’ll suck a few more times, then pull off. He feeds very well when sleepy or in the middle of the night.

We’ve had quite a month, which may account for my little one’s behavior, but right now I just don’t quite know which end is up. I’m hoping someone can shed some light on the situation?!? ;-)

I’ve been doing a MSPI diet for 6 weeks, TED for the last 3 weeks. I’m trying to add in foods to the basic TED, but he keeps having blood in his stool reappear. We also tried Elecare and Neocate a few weeks ago, which he hated, and so did Mommy….so he’s back on the breast.

He was on Prevacid solutabs, but he still had a lot of esophageal inflammation and redness (seen via probes). He’s now on suspension Prevacid, 15mg 2x day. This has helped with the redness and inflammation, I think.

I don’t know if the introduction to the formula started this feeding problem, because he hated the formula. He had a ph probe (which the hospital lost the results to!!!) laryngoscopy, and bronchoscopy last month. Last week he had the endo and sigmoidoscopy with biopsies…and we will get those results in two days.

Any ideas? When I read on here about babies refusing feeds…..people seem to think the reflux isn’t under control. Where do I go from 30mg prevacid? That’s the appropriate MARCI kids dose.

Thank you for any help or suggestions!
